Sorry to hear about this.

How about this scenario:

She's 10 years old and at some point she was traded to a dealer (or several dealers).

The dealer wanted her to look really smart so had her "polished" to bring out the shine.

The valeter hit her with an aggressive compound/wool pad to do the job fast.

This removed a good % of the clearcoat. Enough to put her into the danger zone for it failing.

Dealer didn't know/care as she was nice and shiny in the showroom.

Your weather/temperature plus a tiny bit of extra polishing has thinned the clearcoat down and its failed.

Maybe, maybe not, but it's a possibility?

Have you any paint thickness readings?

Clearcoat fails in high UV exposed areas.
Range rover paint is not the only ones, see a lot clearcoat failure in the Mediterranean, Middle East etc.
The only solution is a full respray as the main layer is also affected by deterioration of UV light.
It will only get worse, there is no cheap shortcut to repair it.
If the car is to you worth to get repaired, wait until the new paint is complete gassed off, and apply a coating or wax with good UV protection properties.
For some reason, I haven’t seen it as much on Japanese cars as European cars.
The newer paints (water borne) seem to not as strong as the old full of VOC’s and other nasties paints.
The clear coat doesn’t seem to be as resistant as the old stuff (why are newer thing not always an improvement and seems that we are running backwards)

Thanks everyone for the replies. I have 2 years on a lease. I can’t decide whether to fix and keep it, or trade it as is in 2 years. It has a lot of km.
