At the risk of repeating myself, long time no update! I've been waiting patiently for FCSS to get cracking with their part of the rebuild after the respray was finally completed late last year, and indeed the process has begun. A few pics from them of the engine going back together...

Brand new OE oil pump that I sourced from my 'contacts' for a fraction of the silly price I had been quoted:

Mounted:

New OE piston oil spray jets fitted:

Coming together nicely:

Engine bay ready to receive!

I spoke to FCSS today and the plan was to have the engine & box back in the bay and on its mounts by the end of today and I should be getting some more photos at the end of the week

Might be worth sticking a new oil cooler on there while you're at it. Mine leaked and caused some interesting wheelspin problems as they leak oil straight out in front of the tyre!

If you do, get some fresh hoses too, they seize onto the cooler with corrosion.

The oil cooler and pipes are in good condition as they're not the originals, I replaced both only a year or so before the car was taken off the road
