Are you taking it there? Will it be going on a club stand if you do take it as it would be nice to see it

She will be there, not on a stand but parked on the left.

Aren't bank holidays great for getting on with things!

MOT behind us i've moved on with a few jobs.

Got a set of Pre 2001 number plates done with original supplying dealer info on the bottom.

and fitted them, so much better than euro plates. A month in the barn though she really needs a wash!

Swapped over some intercooler hoses to genuine original, slowly replacing all the engine bay hoses.

Started replacing all the mudflap brackets with new, refurbished the rear wiper arm and fitted the rear step. Pictures of step to follow. Few more small jobs to do as I want her on the road for the LRO show at Peterborough.

Ello Adam!!

I just picked up the october edition of landrover monthly, have a guss what is on the cover!!

Yep a early epsom green disco 1.

The words of dave phillips

Every landrover enthusiast should save a discovery 1 before its too late.

less tham 10k 300tdi discos are still on the road, the majority of the 10k are sorn'd.

It's true, the Discovery 1 is now a quickly appreciating classic. You can now get the Discovery 2 in a lot of cases cheaper than the 1 and as more of the 1's get scrapped or destroyed off road the value will only increase. All the major classics magazine have run buyers guides over the last few months.

There are indeed more sorn'd than taxed now but when major welding becomes cost effective the prices for them will really jump up. Slightly more than 10k on the road though as howmanyleft has the figure at 11k taxed in Q1 2017 and that doesn't include around 2 thousand oddly registered vehicles. 15k TDI's were SORN in the same period.

Early (89 and 90) 3 doors preferably V8 are the cars to have but 200tdi's of the same era are also getting valuable. There are only 46 MPI's (2.0l petrol) registered in the UK now so they are rare.

With the MOT out of the way I have continued to do some odd jobs. The refurbished step is now on and looks great. The alternative damper works well.

A small patch of fluid under the engine made me do some investigation and it would appear one of the rubber PAS hoses has a crack, the MOT excitement was just too much. The hoses were all replaced 7 years ago but this one wasn't genuine. A £45 genuine hose will be replacing it. A lesson for the future.

A few other hoses have also been replaced including the crankcase breather, intercooler and the cyclonic breather on the rocker cover. I think at 23 years old they are getting to that give up point!

The rear mudflaps have been off for a clean and new brackets and bolts used to put them back on, much better.

Also collected a few bits for the tailgate door refurb, a new speaker grill (very very hard to find) and a new interior handle. the lock mechanism will be replaced with new and if I can find a new one at less than £100 the rear door check strap as well. once all done the door will be resealed with a new splash/water guard and then reassembled.

PAS hose with the split in it replaced, it's a messy job!

Still, fitted an original pipe and new jubilee clips and that's hopefully another job done.
