X Type Leather Cleaning

Hi all,

I’ve been a lurker on this forum for what seems like an age now, but I’ve finally taken the plunge and made a thread.

Last week I got a new to me 2003 2.5V6 Auto Jaguar X-Type SE. It’s thirsty but it’s an absolute dream to drive, and with 91000 Miles for £900 who can say no?

One thing that has been a constant OCD itch was the state of the leather seats. The previous owner was obviously a human chimney due to the state of the roof and the smell which had been engrained into the leather, so today whilst SWMBO is at work I set to work cleaning the seats.

I used Dr Leather spray and a soft leather brush (I’ll need to get a stiffer brush for the door cards).

iPhone photos I’m afraid

Bottom of seat done, back not

3 hours and all clean, shine has gone, smell isn’t so bad now but the carpets need a good steam clean.
