As I understand it no benefit to 2 coats of C5.

I hear what you say on protection/longevity. I've applied it twice now and think I had more joy first time round. For a good few months wheels practically cleaned up with just the PW. I think where I possibly go wrong is the removal of any excess product on application. Either way it's definitely keeping the wheels cleaner than they would otherwise do.

Interesting as I had great success when it was applied to my old black c4s wheels. Like you say, brake dust almost rinsed off. But I haven't had the same experience this time. Under arch plastics still look great after having it applied, but the wheels are a bit 'meh'.

Not been overly impressed with the protection given by the c5 on the wheels. They were properly clean when I applied it, yet some brakedust and fallout has managed to grab onto the powder coat. Getting them painted gloss black soon.

Is there an alternative to c5 that anyone recommends and PB stock? Perhaps I should have put 2 coats of C5 on, rather than 1 as instructed?

Advice appreciated.
For what it's worth, we'd suggest going with GYEON Q2 RIM on the wheels, as long as you have an indoor workspace for application/curing. It's very durable and makes both routine washing and periodic deep cleans a breeze...

Ok, so not a genuine detailing update, but I had a few minor mods to the red car. Gave the car a quick wash and dry this morning, nothing more, but still looks great.

I do like the black wheels, that contrast between the red body, interesting information about C5 having always waxed my wheels that removal and therapeutic hand waxing after several years my next option was a seal. The longevity and performance ease of future maintenance even at your less than optimum application better than the nearest alternative.

Just seen a AM having the black wheels repainted in a Smart Repair booth man those brakes were massive black very elegant. Some great works on this car a stunning overall result.
