IF ... and i do mean IF ..... you reach a point where nothing works, all hope is lost and you have resigned yourself to buying replacement parts ....

.... then its always worth trying exactly the same chemical (if you can figure out what caused it in the first place ) as that will sometimes loosen and lift stains that it has itself caused.

It was TFR left too long that caused the damage I think.
Certainly learnt a lesson there.





They haven't come up as bad as I anticipated, tried just about everything under the sun and a combination of some metal polish and tcut removed the worse of it. I still need to get behind them and have a clean and right at the bottom but they look better now.

Do you go to the £5 hand wash dudes??
Looks like that acid stuff they use that makes all the black rubber bits go grey - and if left on too long in hot weather or warm engine, then it's pretty much baked on

What TFR? What dilution? and was it allowed to dry in the sun?
