Are the modifications necessary?

If I got a bog standard RS do I really need the things you have done?

If the inlet manifold is crap/liable to break why have Ford not fixed it?

The car looks great by the way.

I'm not sure if you would really need to do what I have done, but what I have done is improve the performance and improved upon the quality of components. Some of the standard parts have known flaws, e.g. The plenum, which has a history of exploding under boost and causing serious mechanical and body damage. Why would I want to run the risk of this?

Today I decided to update the crosspipe to an AS Brushed finish pipe. I also changed the crappy Ford hex pillar things to stainless items and added a pro hoses symposer pipe to match the rest of my hoses (last one was a pants fit so I didn't bother fitting it).

Before:

After:

I noticed a few weeks back that my undertray and intercooler ducts were damaged. I sourced an as new pair of ducts for £25, and have a new undertray and extensions coming this week. So I have removed the front grill and undertray. At the same time I will be fitting my cold air feed to my Mountune airbox from the front grill.

And a bit more custard for inside:

What an awesome car! I think the mods are tasteful and serve a purpose. Mountune gear is always good quality as well. Look forward to seeing more updates in the future.

By the way the plastic ducts which should cost pennies are retailing for around £400!

Love the car dude!

Word of warning, make sure the undertray is securely fastened! A mate had an unfortunate issue on the autobahn coming back from the Nurburgring.....

Aaaaaaand the only place for it!

That's why I'm changing my undertray. Once they are damaged the wind gets underneath them and eventually they come loose. Mine has cracked on the front edge around the mountings so I'm playing safe and changing it all. It also allows me to fit the cold air feed and grill mod I've had sat in my workshop for a while. And while the front end is in bits I might upgrade the intercooler
