harsh polish
Hi guys,
I have a das 6 and the Auto finesse 3 stage kit which was nice on better condition paints but I have a heavily swirled Passat and it didn't quite remove them. I want to tackle it without flatting, Is there a coarse polish anyone can recommend for the first stage on heavy swirls? Also is there an option on this forum to view my posts? Can't seem to find it and end up scrolling to see the replies. Thanks |

If the paint is hard (most VW paint is) and you're sure it requires something with quite a bit of bite, then I'd recommend Scholl S17 or Scholl S3 XXL Gold. S3 XXL Gold has a heavy cut, a bit more than S17 and can finish down well when using Scholl's white spider or navy spider pad which work well for swirling and scratching on hard paint. The navy pad will require several hits though.

As for a compound I would have a look at KochChemie range of polishes ![]() Their H8-02 compound is excellent on VW paint and is easier to work with than Scholl S3 XXL gold which I've used to, and it finishes down better to even to the stage of LSP ready, but I would recommend always to use a finishing polish. ![]() |
