Hi there, Im just about to order this http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polis...s-6-pro-meguiars-hex-logic-kit/prod_1212.html but before taking the plunge I need to know if Im making a good choice, Im a total novice when it comes to machine polishing but have done abit of reading and think this suits my needs. Is it a big deal that it cant attach a 3.5 inch backing plate ? I want to do headlights as well as my car with this. Thanks in advance

But you can fit a smaller backing plate to the DAS 6 Pro. ;)

Take your pick from the 3.1/2" or 3" ShineMate DA backing plates on the CYC site. :thumb:

To clear up the confusion there is a DAS6 Pro and a DAS6 Pro Plus, which are very different machines. The Pro Plus model has the larger throw but cannot be used with a smaller backing plate. The Pro is more of a jack of all trades but therefore (relatively speaking) a master of none. The Pro Plus will cut larger areas faster and easier but is not so good on smaller or tighter areas when it’s bigger orbit and 5 inch minimum backing plate can restrict you. Both are very capable machines and neither will disappoint. In an ideal world I’d say get the Pro Plus and then add a dedicated small form factor machine at a later date, the alternative is to go for the Pro with large and small backing plates which you may then want to upgrade in the future.

Good choice. The advantage of a long throw machine is speed, As a novice you want to take your time and perfect your technique and enjoy the journey to a great shine.
There's a big difference between doing two cars a year or two cars a week!

:)
Thanks for your input, It looks a good bit of kit for the price and everyone says they are great for beginners.
