Not strictly detailing but idea's ?

When i got my car the dealer had polished the inside with something obviously not suitable and took some of the chrome off the steering whhel badge, want it gloss black now but was trying to work out how to go about it, would be tricky to vinyl wrap, wrapped things before but this looks hard, plus dont want to apply heat to the airbag, thought about plastidip but do i want to spend not far off £40 for black plastidip then the glossifier for one badge, could just spray it gloss black but would need some neat masking inbetween the fiddly bits, does anyone think it would look strange to mask round the edge the do the whole lot gloss black as in the centre too where at the moment its black? Any ideas welcome, thanks.

Sorry if this is on the wrong section

No it is from the dealer polishing with something he shouldn't of, the car smelt of the polish when i picked it up and saw the can on his desk, confronted him about it and he told me it was from that being used

Did he use acid in a can?

Try a thick silver marker pen - you can find chrome finish ones on ebay.
