Main Stealer recommendations...

1st oil service is due on the F31 335d.

Itís still in warranty so ideally want to take it to a BMW garage for the service. I know it doesnít have to, but for any goodwill issues in the future it helps to maintain a Main Stealer service history.

Iíve been quoted £342 which is obviously a complete, well you know what, and I refuse to pay that kind of money.

I can get OEM parts delivered for around £150, so £200 for labour seems way north of where it should be, even for a Main Stealer.

Any recommendations for a Ďsensible dealerí in the North West, both in terms of who will do a good job and not have my pants down?!?

Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, Preston etc are all doable.

Hi mate, try Lloyd Colne - Iíve had excellent service from them, both sales, service and aftercare.

Not sure on costs though, so worth a call...

Unless Iím doing something wrong mate it doesnít give any price or even option to select what I want a price on? Put reg and mileage in and itís telling me the car doesnít have a service pack (which I know) but thatís as far as it goes. Bought the car pre-owned from a main Stealer but it didnít have a service pack on it. Regretting that now! More that I can do the job myself and know how much of a mark up thatís being applied and itís just greedy.

Will call a few more up and see how I get on, would rather build a relationship up with an Indy but while in warranty canít get past feeling the need to take it back to BM.

Cheers Mike.

He had a few behavioural issues that we were unaware of when we got him.
He was meant to be 'trained' but he wasn't fully up to the grade for the mega money we paid for him.

Thankfully, the guy we got him accepted he wasn't ready and gave us our money back which he never does. The contract we signed even said this so we were lucky on that side of things.

Unfortunately, we've now decided going back into dog ownership isn't for us right here and now so we're going to wait for a few more years. The wife is now running about in a 330d F31 instead of her pride n joy 240i cab!!

It may end up being the shortest car ownership we've ever had!!

Lessons learnt I guess.
