Question Colour Paint Thickness Gauge

Hi guys.

I'm looking to buy a paint thickness gauge, but I'm so lost...
Then I found this gauge on Clean Your Car and I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on it.

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/index....productId=1267

Thank you!

You will find the same thickness gauge on Aliexpress for approximately 72£...
For what it's worth, over 181 buyers on ali gives it the thumbs up.

But certainly is not the same thing. Or is it? Don't really feel so confident paying that amount for something from china with no garantee of fiability.
Am I seeing this in the wrong prespective?

In fairness Rodriguez, if you are happy a that price and the assurance of buying from a highly regarded and reputable company such as CYC, then go for it.

With a quality piece of kit, you'll only buy one once if you're using it occasionally.
I bought a Paint Detective PD8 about 7 years ago.
Still works fine, and is spot on as I still have the calibration shims

I think and I stress think, that's the same model Polished Bliss used to sell...note the word used!

Mine started playing up after a couple of years (used twice or so in that time!) and wouldn't read either the Fe or NFe off the shims (can't remember which) so I lost faith in it being able to take readings at all.

As it's a Chinese made piece of kit there's zero backup once outside of warranty so no replacing the probe/sensor etc.

Shame as it was a nice piece of kit...when it was working.

I ended up getting one Nicety, the same one from CYC, from an UK seller on EBay and saved some money, not much, but something. It seemed legit, with a lot of feedback from buyers.

MDC250, hope that my experience will be better than yours. I really can't afford right know a good and expensive gauge.
Thank you for your feedback.
