56k Icon Another nother nother 280 brooklands capri. Post restoration rectification

This car was business as usual for the retro restored cars I do.
After a standard wash and decontamination it was brought into the prep area for drying and further prep work

The owner was staying with me for the 3 days to get involved and do what he could to help. So Ric stripped the wheels off one at a time to clean and coat properly, with tac systems magic coat

I got on with stripping down the car to allow thorough access and better correction

It was then moved into the surgery for work

First job as always on these cars is to thoroughly clean the trims. The amount of dirt and dressing they hold from years back is amazing

DSC_0026 by Matt Rowe, on Flickr

It really helps with taping up

Now to work. It was operation "sanding mark" as per

The car was then refined, again Ric helped me with this which was great, and we coated with tac systems shine, and refit all the trim pieces which were also coated with tac systems magic. Lastly the glass was done with gtechniq G1 (3 to the front, 2 to the back and one on the sides)

The next day it was time to pull it out and admire its looks

Compounding was done with the new uro fibre pads. The images you see above are all PRE refining. I feel these pads don't quite cut as hard as straight compounding pads but as you can see they finish exemplary. Best I've used for combination cut and finish. They were used with m105. Very highly recommended

Wow, that has come up really well and what a lovely colour - really suits the car, looks like it is cherished and what a great idea for the owner to help / assist in the process

My only grip (and I can understand why) are the speakers on the rear parcel shelf...
