O.C.D Waxes Nebula

Detailingworld™ Review

Introduction:
The follow on to Alien:51, this is the new show wax from O.C.D Waxes. For those not in the know, they only produce two waxes to date.

The Product:

The wax comes first and foremost well wrapped in colour coordinating paper. Once the package has been opened you are greeted by a 200ml glass jar. The labelling is colourful and eye catching.

Nebula is a luxurious blend of T1 grade Brazilian Carnauba and White Montan waxes, combined with the finest natural oils and unique high quality gloss enhancers to give that superior wet-look finish, with a sophisticated balance of Coconut and Vanilla scents. This wax is produced using our own custom blended Hot Purple colour which is made in-house, then hand poured in to a 200ml gloss black glass jar. With a soft texture that spreads easily, a little goes far with this blend and with a cure time of 12-15 minutes, this all natural wax gives ideal work times.

Superbly suited to all colours, Nebula can add high levels of gloss to anything from White and Silver to Metallic's, all the way through to darker colours and Black's, adding depth, shine and wetness to paintwork. Combining stunning show wax looks with the expected durability typically found in a regular wax, you can will see the results for at least 2 months with the correct prior preparation, a safe wash routine and dependant on environmental conditions. As a bonus, this wax provides exceptional beading for added satisfaction on those rainy days!

Developed over a period of nearly 13 months alongside the development of Alien:51, Nebula started development under the project name Theory due to wanting to experiment with ingredients less commonly found in production waxes. Many revisions later and following extensive testing, the feedback gathered was used to perfect the blend to create the final revision which came to be known as Nebula, chosen due to the unique appearance of the wax during the cooling stage after being poured.

As with any of our waxes, Nebula is only packaged up once it has passed our strict Quality Control standards to ensure you only receive a product as good as we ourselves would want to receive and it is supplied with an O.C.D Waxes logo sticker.

The Method:

Once you are ready to crack on with Nebula, you will remove the lid to find a pinkish/purple wax. As is the high standards of the manufacturer you will find a perfect pour and a wax that is buttery soft and oily too.

The applicator is a breeze to load and as with any soft wax care must be taken by the user not to over load the product.

Once loaded the wax spreads a dream. It is like most show waxes in that it smears across the paint effortlessly and a little will go along way. Naturally thin layers here will pay dividends on removal.

Cure time is suggested at 12 to fifteen minutes. On the day i applied it however it was very cold and as such i chose to extend this to 20 minutes approx in order to allow the wax to bond properly.

On removal i found that it required a little bit of effort but nothing that i would describe as difficult. It is important to remember here that if the wax was plastered on earlier then that will cause difficulties at this stage.

So onto the finish. Mega gloss. This wax is awesome. It gives depth, shine and gloss by the bucket load as you can see.

Price:

Can you believe that this 200ml glass jar of gloss is only £32.99!

Would I use it again?:

Already have.

Conclusion:

With durability quoted at two months this isn't the wax you are gonna reach for to see you through the winter. However as show season approaches and you just want to turn some heads then this wax is a no brainer. Get some bought you wont regret it.
