ADS Love - 8 Months On - Report

Hello Folks,

This write-up is my record of how my neighbour's car is faring 8 months on
from its last full detail. The products used on this car have almost exclusively
been from ADS as I use up products in my protection arsenal. It's such a
shame, despite my hopes otherwise, that the ADS range is no longer available
in the UK.
The last wash I gave this car was in January; this wasn't a conscious decision
to subject this neglect, it was just a combination of unavoidable circumstances.

The Wash

With the level of muck that the car has gathered, I'm using ADS No Rinse
Show & Shine (ANRSS), with 2 capfuls (30ml) in about 6 litres of water and
3 capfuls in 1.5 litres spray-bottle. The way that ANRSS washes is different to
almost every other wash potion I've used.

This centres around the way that the dirt is rendered down to its finest
components. The dirt in the bucket does not show as mucky in the usual
sense. What you see is a cloud of dirt very clearly in suspension.

Before I took photographs of the car in its dirty state, I started by washing
the rear quarter, just to see whether my approach was feasible. The paint
was sprayed with the ANRSS, with that left to dwell for several seconds. This
was followed by a fairly loaded noodle wash being gently being squeezed out
along the panel, before gently wiping downwards.

The panels were then washed using my regular bucketless wash routine and
these first three photos show my progress, after my drying wipes...

It's pretty clear that even 8 months on there's still some protection in place.
The ease with which the paint was cleaned meant that I could continue with
this approach. The car was pretty filthy...

One of the tests on the ADS coating on this car is how the plastic inserts in
the doors look. Now, we all know how bad Renault plastics are, so this is
not a meaningless test. They aren't looking pristine, but they aren't letting
the side down either...

Some more pictures of the dirty car...

Some of the fiddly bits cleaned...

Having washed the car, it was time to make an assessment of how the potions
are behaving. On the roof I was able to simply use my usual bucketless wash
and it was surprising just how easily it cleaned. When you remember that I
use absolutely no pressure when dragging the cloth, no more than a single
wipe was needed across any part of it.

The car was then treated to a top-up of ADS Nano Bio Coat and here are the
completion pictures...

There's no question about the quality of all the ADS potions used on this car.
The Blue Lotion has been instrumental in filling the swirls and providing a
long-lasting primer for its coating. I'm holding out in the hope that these will
become available in the UK once more.
