Alpina Deep Wheel Clean - Autosmart and Raceglaze

Seeing as the weather was improving and I wanted to get the winter wheels off and the Alpina 19s back on I spent yesterday cleaning the car and giving the Classics a deep clean before putting them on the car.

The wheels had been given a quick clean with soapy water before storage last year. Procedure was:

1. Pressure wash wheels.
2. Spray Autosmart Smart Wheels - agitated with Wheel Woolies brushes (highly recommended), washed again
3. De-tarred with Autosmart Tardis - wasn't that much tar to remove to be fair.
4. De Ironised using Bilt Hamber Korrosol Iron and Fallout remover - there was some iron runs from the wheel weights but nothing came off the wheels - last years treatment had done its job.
5. Polished up wheel weights using Autosol and wire wool.
6. Dried wheels and then sealed using Raceglaze Nano Wheel Sealant. This product is so easy to use - spray on - leave to bond for a few minutes and then buff off. I did 2 coats for decent coverage.

Some pics below, though of course it did have to rain today before I could get the glourious full car shots in !

They look absolutely fantastic. I've developed a clean wheel barrel fetish since being on this forum.

Yes it is ! I didn't take too much notice of the shine difference after layer 1 and 2, but overall I say the look was better than the SRP/EGP/Wax that I applied to the wheels last spring - and a lot quicker to apply too! It did decide to rain yesterday sods law!

I sprayed each wheel and left them all for about 5 minutes (bottle says 2mins), then buffed each wheel up and repeated. Hopefully that means I have covered most of the surfaces and have good protection.

I applied only 1 layer on the winter wheels last year, and with a quick jet wash they always came up well.

So for shine, ease of use and protection I am very happy with the product, and still have 2/3rds of the bottle left since first use.
