Crystal serum aftercare
I have just purchased a car that has had the crystal serum with 7 year guarantee.
What I would like to know is what is the best method and products for cleaning the car now and what is the best way to address any dirt or dust which I may get on the way to shows etc, with minimum water on offer for cleaning ? Thanks in advance. |

Crystal serum aftercare
I'm sure Rob will be along but...
Pickup one of the GT maintenance kits (basic or essential) that include shampoo, mitt etc. and just use that for your washes; can't be any argument then about using products that are harsh. They are quality products that work well on a protected car. I don't even know if the guarantee is something that can be transferred to a new owner... Its something I need to speak to them about, if it can be transferred or not.
Do you know if the QD can be used still on my car ? |

Yes QD can still be used; but then you're looking at the QD rather than the Exo underneath. Which is fine.
A wash using a shampoo with no gloss enhancers will show the true state of your protection. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

hi there - never a fan of any waterless systems tbh. all the ones we have tested that make huge claims of being super safe haven't been.
CS does make your finish much less prone to swirls and the coatings keep the car cleaner and make surfaces easier to clean. all go towards ensuring your finish will stay looking pristine and swirl free for significantly longer than an uncoated finish. well worth have a squiz through the FAQs as this and other issues are addressed here: http://gtechniq.com/customer-service/faq/ NB the guarantee is non-transferrable

Hi,
A safe wash routine is essential for keeping the vehicle in best condition What i would recommend regarding car shows is to wash and prepare the vehicle the best you can the day before or even the morning of the show and then do the following at the show: (unless really dirty) Gently wipe the paint & wheels down with our QD spray and good quality microfibre cloths (wheel cloth different to paint cloth) Clean the glass with our G6 glass cleaner Dress the tyres with our T1 or T2 Adam |

Thanks for the replies, picked the car up yesterday and unfortunately looks like the old owner may have left a bird poo on, is there a way to try and get this off without ruining the coating ?

If you're talking about an etching, then no not really. It could have etched into the coating rather than the clear coat but even then you'd need to remove and reapply the coating, or it could have gone all the way through to the clear coat at which point you'd need to remove the coating to correct the paint.

Call me cynical, but if a product has a 7 year guarantee that isn't transferable, it suggests that the distributor knows full well that the original owner is very unlikely to keep their car for 7 years. So really the 'guarantee' is a worthless piece of puff.
That said I am the second owner of a car with a coating, not Gtech, and at nearly 2 years old the coating is holding up well. |
