finishing after compounding

hi guys

Ive seen that there are white wool finishing pads,

was just curious as of when to use them?

Im using HL orange pads to compound with scholl s3 xl, and HL white pads to refine with scholl s40

but if i was to finish with a wool white pad, would i just buff off my work with it, or apply product to the wool pad?

hope what I've said makes sense

any help appreciated

Got a link to the pads in question?

Wool is normally regarded as one of the hardest cutting pad materials going, I honestly can't imagine how you'd make it into a finishing pad....

MF or foam, to finish with any pad you need to have a finishing polish.

Bear in mind that MF pads flatten down in use and need to be regularly cleared out with either compressed air or a brush.

I'd stick with your foam pads for finishing, make sure you work the S3 sufficiently to refine it as far as possible, otherwise you're giving the S40 too much to do to get to a really good gloss.
