Henry_b's Range Rover P38

i'm 17 so no i ain't driving it yet.

However when a p38 rears its head for reasonable money you don't turn it down.

What is it with me and cheap cars??

Anywhoo here's my P38 Warts and all.


Spec's wise.

Monte Carlo Blue Metallic exclusive to 2001-2002 run out P38s

Lightstone leather seats with electric headrests

2 person memory

4.6 Rover V8 225hp

4spd ZF auto

BRC sequential LPG injection system. makes 13mpg tolerable

18" Comet alloys

6CD changer

Harman Kardon 12 Speaker Surround Sound with 2 subwoofers and 5 amps and a 6 Disc Changer

Electric sunroof

Air con

Dual zone climate control

heated front screen

heated rear screen

Multi function steering wheel

Cruise control

etc etc


Anyway here she is after a Mission about in some fields to 'er test the suspension

Now onto some cleaning she had been parked under a tree of some kind in her past, as a result the paint feels like sandpaper.

Also she's fairly patina'd lol

Anywhoo here are some before's






Now the afters.

6hrs of cleaning.

#1 i had to wash her 3 times to get all the crud off!

#2 A run over with a DA and some Meguires ultimate compound

#3 3 Coats of Autoglym SRP

#4 A few coats of Poorboys nattys paste Blue.

I tidied up the Manifold and A/C compressor with some VHT silver paint.

Nice start to the restoration.

I like an old Range Rover.

My plans are to restore it upto a very good standard ready for when i can afford the insurance.

Fuel prices aren't a problem as its LPG so even 15mpg is ok at 50p per litre

compared to Petrol at 1.21 a litre

The Hvac unit is pretty plain and plastic




£4 later i have this...




Which makes the unit look like this..
