Anyone used Scotchguard Multi-Purpose Protector?
I'm looking to buy some kind of fabric protector for my new car which arrives soon. I read a test on AutoExpress that put Scotchguard very close to the winner, GTechnic Smart Fabric, and it's half the price. I was wondering if anyone here has used it or if there are any other similar/better products I should look at?
Thanks ![]() |

Yes, here too; works very well
But, you can't drive your car for a day; you really have to leave it overnight, and then drive for the next two days with your windows open; it's seriously strong stuff I used a whole can on my car; included all of the carpeted boot, headlining and fabric arch liners (don't see the point of having 1/4 of a can laying around), and two coats on the mats. Cost me about 7 quid Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I think I'll get some then. I don't think I'll bother doing the roof lining as it's black, but I definitely want to treat the seats, door cards, carpet and mats.
Thanks for the replies ![]() |

Cool; take the mats out; do them in the house/garage twice, while the car is drying overnight
I found a mask and nitrile gloves (to get the spray into the fibres) worked best Also do the driver footwell twice, as the pedal area always has constant use (shoes resting on left and right) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

When someone opens a shaken can of coke in your car; you'll appreciate the headlining being done (don't ask how I know)

I used it literally a couple of days ago - as others have mentioned it seems ok but has a very strong solvent smell.
I tried it on some carpet pieces and the water sheets off if held at an angle very well. Will see how long it lasts |
