Smile Hello!

Hello everyone!

My name is Sam and I've been reading through this forum for over a month now and have found lots of helpful advice so thanks to everyone!
I'm 22 years old and have only been driving for 2 years! I currently drive an Audi A3 which I'm in love with! I'm from Northampton, England and have recently took the plunge and bought a pretty comprehensive starter pack for detailing. So far I must say I love It! I bought my gear about 2 weeks ago and have already had a go at clay barring which I found very therapeutic I must say! Although I heard about some clay mitts/ cloths that do the same thing but not used them or bought any yet.(not sure if they are any good) I have also waxed and sealed my car with sealant which came out very well! I will put photos below if I figure out how lol.
At the moment my set up consists of some cheap buckets, a Karcher K4 pressure washer, pretty much all of AG's products (Haven't used them all yet) and some MF towels. I just need to get a decent wet+dry hoover (probably a george) and a decent machine polisher. I will also want to get some different branded things that might be better than AG if anyone has any reccomendations!
I want to get into some paint correction stuff but have no funds to buy the gear yet nor the knowledge so that will have to wait a while.
I am very new to this so don't want to rush into it but I want to buy decent gear that will last me a good amount of time instead of buying cheaper stuff. I will probably need advice on what sort of products to buy such as polishes, pads, MF towels and other sprays and shampoos that might be better than AG.
I am learning a lot at the moment and have found lots of helpful advice so thanks! A question I have is i bought some AG Magma which is meant to get rid of ferrous materials from the paint, can I use that on a car that has sealant and wax on it or will the ferrous material be beneath the wax?

Bit of a long intro but am very excited about joining the community and hope I can one day help some of you in return for helping me!

Thanks in advanced!!

Take a step back mate, technique will beat product, you have more than enough stuff, regarding AG Manga needs to be applied before any claying, sealant, waxes.
Have you done the plastic bag test before claying?

After washing, to determine if you need claying go to super market take from the fruit section a plastic bag (the thinner the bag the better) or wrap your palm in plastic foil, go through the car paint does the paint feels smooth or rough? if it feels rough you need to clay if not you do not need.

Ok that's fine I'll have to work on my technique more, is there anywhere that sells bigger bottles of products for AG? And no i ran my hand along the car before I clayed it and it was rough but feels very smooth Now, I'll try that bag trick next time though thank you!
Also what's the best APC and what can't I use it on? Can I use APC for clay barring?
