How can I check if an abandoned is stolen

Hi all
Yet again we’re having random cars being parked in our parking spaces.
The cars come and go and most the time have traders plates in the back.
Now a car has turned up and parked in a way it was blocking people in.
Apparently this was reported to the police who said it was stolen and the car vanished only to return this morning.
We’re talking a £30 k car easily and none of us on here would own a £30k car haha
I can’t understand why the police haven’t been anywhere near if it is
The other issue is if it’s a trader using our road as a place to store his cars. None of them ever have any tax but still the police do nothing
Getting a bit of a joke now , go to work in a morning and when you return there’s a car in your space and it’s there for days before it vanishes during the night usually

The local council should have a van that goes around checking for untaxed cars (or at least did in Reading), ild let them know as would be easy pickings for them.

Even a local parking enforcement agency may be interested in boosting their figures and am sure the trader would stop parking there after a few tickets.

Do you have an airport in around 20 /30 miles near you?
There are some parking operators, who do valleted parking, and store the cars on a "secure" place.
Check if they are uninsured and untaxed, because that would fail that option.

There's a free site called isitnicked.com

I tend to use it for when buying cars.

Not sure if it's of any help.

Write a letter to your local MP.
CC it to your Chief Constable and the Chief Exec. of your Council.

MP's need votes so the more who sign it the better.
CCing it is polite, keeps them in the loop AND allows them to take action before your MP starts asking questions.
In the meantime collect car details eg; make, colour, reg. numbers, times and dates of each car plus any CCTV coverage or pics of who is doing the driving.

Neighbours working together can achieve great things eg; how the funeral of the stabbed housebreaker was diverted when the neighbours stood united.

Pretty sure the garage is violating their rights under trade plates. I think these are for transporting cars around, road tests etc and not a means for them to store untaxed vehicles on the public highway. I’d get a number off the next one and contact vosa

Get a set of these and move the car onto a double yellow nearby.

Apply for a log book & then get the local scrapyard to pick the car up & scrap it,,they won’t park there again

You don't think there will be any action taken against him for scraping someone else's property that he doesn't own?

Any way of blocking in? Or buy a clamp, few hours of inconvenience for them might put them off.
