New Passat

So we have traded in the wifes mini
DSC_0102 by Abigail Lees, on Flickr
as if I took the people carrier to work she could not get all 4 children into it if she needed to. We wanted something bigger to allow for this and also wanted to save money on fuel and also road tax. we tried numerous cars including an A3, A4, A6 a Skoda superb but the car that ticked the most boxes was the Passat. as you can see it is a 64 plate registered o 24/12/2014. it was pre registered by the garage and then sold to an old gentleman. he then stopped driving and the car was put into auction. a midlands car supermarket picked the car up from there and I have bought it from them.
to date it has done 12075 miles on collection form the dealer.
full service history and very well looked after.
before we picked the car up I asked them not to clean it and when I went to get it today I'm pleased I did as the washing methods left a lot to be desired.
it has plenty of swirls on it but it is a good honest car.
As it is the executive model it comes with heated leather seats, sat nav, dab radio cruise control etc etc etc. we have had a silent witness dash cam fitted and plan to get a removable tow bar so we can take this when we go away just the wife and I leaving the grand parents to borrow the people carrier when they have the 4 children.

any how here are a couple of pictures and I will post more when I clean her and take more.

Thanks
Jon

Nice. After a good polish that blue will be amazing, especially with the flake.

Just a note don't get the software update for these engines as it somewhat ruins the economy. The software fix is recommended but not mandatory. Have a google to see what they say.

I've noticed on mine that I've probably lost around 100 miles out of a full tank as the update seems to drop power but increase low speed fuelling.

Is that in response to the "dieselgate" scandal?

Indeed it is.

I've also noticed that my car seems to do a lot more forced DPF regenerations as one of the things the update does is increase EGR activity to actually get your car to meet the emissions it quoted.

I'm currently looking to get mine reversed if I can.

cheers pal, got a couple of bits to do to make it right (like better mats etc) I would like to replace the interior lights with led but not sure the car will like it.
