My car of the day, 2017 Civic hatchback.

A few weeks ago I featured the next gen Type R and how it could look and now Honda have released it's official production car that will launch in the United States first with Europe to get the new Civic in the first quarter of 2017. While Honda builds the sedan and coupe versions in India and Ontario; the five door model you see here will be built at it's Swindon plant and exported to the United States and to other locations. The new Civic will be offered in five trim levels: LX, sport,EX,EXL,and sport touring. Only one engine will be offered - a 1.5 liter turbo however UK buyers will get a choice of petrol or diesel. The hatchback you see pictured in production guise for the first time will be the basis for the next gen Type R. So in the meantime this new Civic is making it's way to the United States, Civic fans on here will have to wait until next year.

Like it?

Huge Honda Fan, but not this one sorry, has some nice features but far to over the top on the detailing.

I'm sure it will be well made though.

I don't know, I sort of like it as it's really different and quite a brave design... but then I think, do I actually like it because it looks nice? I don't know...

Maybe one to make my mind up on when I see it in the flesh.
