I always take my tyres to an alloy refurb company to have them fitted. Never had any issues at all. I suppose if they have refurbed a set, they've got to be careful when putting the tyres back on!!

You can, but on a set of wheels it will be gone after a week, SRP is not know for its durability and when you add in the heat and other factors on a set of wheels it wont last, grab yourself some, try something like the below

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/11268...926&rmvSB=true

easy to apply and good durability

Not sure you are quite correct on this?

If you wax over SRP, it will protect the SRP and ensure it lasts longer.

Got my new tyres fitted yesterday. They looked after the wheels. Didn't use an air gun like they did with other cars. Gave them a clean afterwards.

Great work.

I feel your pain regarding the tyre fitters. I think a kind of numbness sets in with folks at some garages and tyre places caused by doing the same job day in day out repetitively. They forget they're working on someone's pride and joy. On past cars, I've had paintwork and wheels damaged by garages and tyre fitters. Their response is always very much "fk's sake it's just a car I've not raped your wife". I'm sure folks who work on cars for a living are the least likely to be actual 'car people'.
