What has happened?

My grill and numberplate have both got a milky cloudy staining on them that I can't shift.
What's caused this?
Does anyone have any suggestions how to remove it?

Have you used a TFR or something similar on it? looks like something has dried on the surface and maybe corroded/etched into the grill

That's my guess as well, as product dries the water evaporates and it becomes more concentrated. You need to be careful on hot days or when washing in the dun.

I can't see how that can be rectified, especially the Kidney grille, very difficult to get access to properly remove the staining, if at all. Looks quite bad.

You may be able to remove some of it with a mild acid (eg vinegar, or Koch Chemie FSE) if the product to blame has left any mineral deposits. And there's the possibility you may be able to polish the grille to lessen the appearance of the marks (something mild like Menzerna metal polishing cream). But to get it back to "as new" I suspect you'll need to replace the part.

Def looks like TFR damage or maybe MUCKOFF etc.
What did you use on it?
Did you leave the product too long?
Did you do it in the sun?

I would say you won't get the grill back to new sadly. Time for a new grill.

try acetone , a little on a mf . The number plate is cheap to replace , kidney grills aren't cheap.

It looks like Tardis has been left on. If you can't get the grilles sorted, you'll be able to pick up a new set on eBay for around 20 quid.

Hope you get sorted.
