It truly depends what you want them for. If its for lighting up swirls, avoid flat panel lighting or strip lights, they don't work nearly well enough. But if you want an even spread for general "garage use" they would be ideal.

As far as lights for swirls, a more direct bulb, no filters without too big of a beam angle is what you want, ideally over 4500k

I've used the Screwfix LED strip light https://www.screwfix.com/p/lap-twin-...00lm-4ft/6481v over the bench in my cellar and it is way better than the twin 4ft fluorescent that it replaced.
I started off with one of these https://www.toolstation.com/shop/Lig...odlight/p71754 for decorating the hall and was so impressed that i bought two more and a stand off eBay. I replaced the setscrews with thumbscrews to make them easier to adjust.
When I have all these on in the cellar I have to wear welding goggles! All joking aside you can't beat good lighting.
