Thanks for the replies so far guys. Sonax certainly gets a good press so I think I'll go with that for my next bottle but will also bear the other suggestions in mind. Finding as I get more into proper car cleaning I quite like trying new products. It's addictive!

You know it’s bad when you get cleaning products delivered at work so the missus can’t see what you’ve been buying (again!)

The best quick detailer for protection is easy: Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer. You don't even need a wax or whatever with that, the stuff stays on long and I know nothing on the market that even comes remotly close.

BSD is nice to use and offers good protection. I tried to use it as a drying aid yesterday, I’d just misted the entire car when a friend turned up for a chat by the time he gone the BSD had dried out. Real pig to buff off. Note to self, one panel at a time.
