56k Icon My car of the day, new 2020 Aston Martin DBX SUV.

If you can't beat them, join them is the motto we're all familiar with. That's why Aston Martin have tested their new DBX SUV's off road credentials. It's the brands first ever SUV and it could be the most important in the companies 105 year history. It first made an appearance in concept form way back at the 2015 Geneva motor show and these images confirm that the final model will be different from that concept car. As you have gathered that not much can be seen due to the disguise but the overall shape does give us an idea of how it will look. Dispite rumors of a hybrid DBX SUV, it looks likely that a 4.0 litre V8 will sit under the bonnet. Aston Martin confirmed that a lightweight, bonded aluminum body structure will be used and that this test car is being used purely for testing the underpinnings of the model. Th Aston Martin will square up against the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus come 2020 starting from £140,000.

Every need if anyone has any interest in seeing Aston Martin survive. Porsche was on its knees before the Cayenne - that SUV saved them and has allowed them to flourish, the profits generated giving them the cash to continue to develop the 911

Aston Martin is not in a strong financial position and something like the DBX could help to ensure its survival.

At least the DBX will be far more bespoke than the Bentayga and Urus which are both spun off the same platform as the Q7 - the DBX is also likely to get the V12 from the DB11

The same people who won't take a Urus, Bentayga, Cullinan, FF Range Rover, Cayenne etc off road

I completely agree, as much as i hate the thought of an Aston SUV if keeps Aston alive then its a small price to pay, besides no doubt it will be one of the better looking SUV's

Definitely not. Even as an SUV, it doesn't look that good.

My car of the day, new 2020 Aston Martin DBX SUV.

From the front yes, but what on earth happened at the rear? Total let down. I mean I’ve heard of things looking like the back end of a bus, now we have a Rhino looking like the back end of a DBX,
