Good Evening,

Last weekend saw myself and my occasional helper Si, aka Baker21 spend the day perfecting a rather rare (1 of 5 left in the world) classic MG that has recently landed back in the UK from the US.
At some point in its past life in the US it had been recommissioned and featured in the Amelia Island Concours event - a good base to start from but still room for improvement in our eyes.

Apologies for no before pics but the whole car was covered in a thin layer of transport dust, with the wheels, arches and chrome being particularly grubby, with lots of oily fingerprints everywhere.

>Roof and tonneau was cleaned with G101 and a leather brush.
>Wheels were rinsed and cleaned using every brush, mitt & wheel woolie known to mankind followed by a rinse aid we're currently evaluating, rinsed then blow dried to remove the little water that was left.
>Body and chrome were sprayed with a liberal amount of Last Touch and wiped down with microfibres.
>Engine bay cleaned with G101, vinegar and various size brushes and cotton buds.
>:buffer:Rupes BF15 mk2 and their yellow and white pads/polishes were used to knock out all the defects present.
>Panel wiped
>Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light applied to paintwork
>FK1000P applied to all chrome surfaces
>Tyres dressed with Zaino Z16
>Carpets shampoo'd with Autosmart VIF foam carpet cleaner
>Leather scrubbed with leather brush and leather cleaner
>Exhaust and interior chrome polished with Gtechniq M1
>Final inspection...finito!

Thanks for taking the time to comment guys:thumb:

Funnily enough it may be appearing at the Haynes museum in the future.

Fabulous!

Odd number plate. Usually three letters and four numbers are NI plates with a 'Z' or 'I'.
Temporary plate by all accounts, now on a period correct number:thumb:

Thank you. If you are a total petrolhead who lives, eats, sleeps and breathes cars as I am then you get great job satisfaction from every car you Detail but some come along which are on the next level, this being one.

cheers
