Correction/Protection Process

Hi Guys,

here

Now that I've established a maintenance wash procedure of which I am happy with, its now time to address my correction/protection routine.

This is what im thinking, along with products, feel free to amend, criticize or educate

polish - I'm not too sure here, but do have a bottle of SRP good to go. Otherwise I was thinking Lime Prime
glaze - pb white diamond
sealant - angelwax ti22
wax - angelwax engima

This is all to go on a 15 plate alpine white BMW.

Will be purchasing a forced DA polisher to assist

I'm not sure if and when I'm required to wipe down the panels with IPA between layers?

Thanks for the help

If you're using SRP do you need a glaze?

Also autoglym advise that SRP contains some wax so your glaze or sealant may not take to it.

Standard decon routine

1)Prewash and snow foam

2)Clean seals and plastic with APC & Wash (using washing up liquid).

3) Dry.

4)Tar Remover

5)Rinse.

6)Dry.

7)Fallout remover.

8)Rinse.

9)Clay with car still wet.

10)Wash to remove clay residue.

11)Polish

12)Seal

Without seeing your paint its hard to advise a polish but sonax profiline perfect finish is a good one for not bad condition paint, shouldent need a glaze if you correct the paint ( I dont use em so cant advise) then use ti-22 and then top with your wax

SRP is not a polish in my book but cleaner glaze its got good filling properties but bugger all cut and as your getting a DA then just polish the paint to remove the marks instead if filling them with SRP

Ok few things, if you use SRP, you have no need for a glaze, as it really is a glaze. Sure it has a minuscule amount of cut, but its really working through filling not abrasion.
If you use lime prime, drop the sealant. It wont bond to the oily base you have laid down. Straight to wax
Neither of the above needs following with IPA. You WANT the filling properties of the products you have used, otherwise you might as well use an actual polish

If I was you, I would make decontamination a priority, to make sure there are no specs of anything on the white paint. Then use white diamond, ti22 then enigma all by hand to fill and protect.
