Amazon Fire TV Stick - £15 off

Black Friday deal at Amazon. Was £39.99, now £24.99. Got 3 of these already, but another won't hurt

That’s good pricing for the outgoing model.

I’ve just got myself one of the 4K Fire Stocks and find it to be much faster and supports more formats and has native frame rate support. They’ve come on in leaps and bounds - makes my original Fire Stick feel like it’s in slow motion by comparison. If only they did not lock out direct support for Kodi - I use this on all my other platforms and just prefer its interface for accessing my DVD/Blu-ray backup rips. Not all of us Kodi users are using it for illegal streaming activities!

I've been reading about the new 4K Firesticks and it appears that the only app that supports native frame rate of the content being played is with Amazon prime. This is the case with the previous generation Amazon device too. No 24p with NetFlix and no 50i (25p) for UK services such as BBC iPlayer. Only auto switches when using Amazon Prime.

The original Firesticks really are slow though, but the new one as I linked to (with Alexa) are much better. As you say the 4K ones are likely better still.

Kodi is not directly supported on Amazon devices, but it is very easy to install. I like to use Kodi too for local playback of my rips.

And now the new 4K Fire Stick is out and also reduced by £15 to £34.99 already. Rude not to.

No, never had lip sync issues. What's your set up (AVR etc.)? What apps are causing the issues?
