Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo - Ceramic Pro - detailR - Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire

Something of a future classic this time.

This Fiat Coupe was imported from Japan after the owners quest for a rust free example.
The car looks in great shape at first glance, but the car has received a full respray and the finishing stages have let it down.
the car was originally booked in for a single stage machine polish Ceramic Pro coatings all round, but it turned into a much bigger job

The order of the detail:

Full safe wash,
Chemical decontamination - tar and fallout removal,
Clay bar treatment,
Then the machine polishing stages, it took a lot of machine polishing work as well as some wet sanding to get the paint work to a standard where it could be coated.
Ceramic Pro 9H and Light coatings,
Ceramic Pro Rain for the exterior glass,
The wheels were refurbished and coated with Ceramic Pro Wheel & Caliper.

Onto the car.

Full Auto Finesse safe wash procedure.

The wheels had been painted on the cheap so these were taken to be dipped, shot blasted and powder coated.

Lots of over spray as well as wax oil and underseal kicking around the car.

Onto machine polishing.

4 days solid of machine work.

Lots of machine sanding marks to deal with along the sides of the car.

20171219_115917 by Richard Lewin, on Flickr

After heavy cutting, they were looking better, but not good enough.

20171219_121042 by Richard Lewin, on Flickr

We'll come back to that later.

Carrying on around the car with a few combos and finding which areas would need sanding. It would be possible to continue polishing to remove a lot of the marks, sanding will just make the process a lot more efficient.

Bits like this

Working onto the sides.
These were sanded up to 3,000 before being cut twice with a rotary, polished with a large throw DA and then refined. This paint was like granite!
(Photos after the first cutting stage.)

With the polishing and refining complete, the car was panel wiped and Ceramic Pro Nano Polish applied via machine, ready for coating the next morning.

The wheels were back from being refurbished and looking much better.
These were ceramic coating with Wheel & Caliper for some long term protection.

The Ceramic Pro coatings were applied.

The glass coated,
Interior cleaned,
Exhaust tip polished and coated,
All exterior trims dressed.

And some finished shots.

I love those. A neighbour has one and it is on his driveway and hasn't moved in the 14 years I've lived here. The tyres are completely flat and it just looks like it's in a really poor state.

That, on the other hand has been totally resurrected. Well done, bud. A lovely colour made even better by your hard work.
