1995 TVR Chimaera 400 - Puglys replacement!

So I think most of you are aware that Pugly has go to a new home where she is being driven and loved as much as she deserves....so I had to find a suitable replacement for her.

I always wanted a 205 GTI 1.9...done that so I sat there and thought what else is on the list....TVR Chimaera!!

So here he is filling the empty space thats been the garage for the last week or 2

The car is spot on....the paint is what I would class as "OK" but thats to be expected of a nearly 21 year old car...its not had any crash damage its probably had the nose painted at some point they all do but then again its only done 38,400 miles in its life. The plan with Ron (thats his name) is to just drive enjoy him but at the same time restore it back to factory new condition....

I made a start on the interior last night...it was pretty grubby with ingrained dirt but a medium solution/mix of AutoGlym Super Interior Cleaner soon sorted that out! Last night was no means the final clean it was more of an interim to see how it came up and what i was working with.

Very nice mate, shame the little Pug had to go but can't complain with that replacement!

I take it everything is to be kept totally original? No plans for a cheeky straight pipe exhaust system? haha..

Detailing wise what are your plans? Coating?

Oh yeah totally original, I might upgrade the original coil overs for Gaz Golds at some point but that would be it...Exhaust wise again I am sorta tempted but i think the noise would get on my **** after a while and it wouldn't be original.

Detailing wise full correction and no coatings...Wax for classics....although multiple coats of Zaino Z2 with ZFX could be mighty sexy

Fabulous! I would love a TVR, i'm just not brave enough. I don't know how to sort anything mechanical which I assume I would have to to keep it fettled.

Paint colour is spot on for one one of these, only other choice is the royal blue, I think wheeler dealer had one of these a few years ago, might be worth watching on quest demand.

I wont lie it scares the death out of me...but then again I only got it yesterday evening!!

I think its good to have a bit of fear of a car....makes you respect it more.

There is not so much traditional resto work to do to it, more a case of cleaning the crap out of it and making it as showroom fresh as I can!
