Replacing laptop

As above looking to replace my laptop but cannot decide whether to get a tablet instead, I don't really use the laptop as it was designed to be used but I do need something that I can use with my external memory drive so I can move document/films/pics around.

Just need something to browse the Internet, download documents and watch films when going away.

Not looking to spend a fortune maybe sub £400

Suggestions and comments most welcome

These days you can get tablets with keyboards that come off so have the best of both worlds.

Iv got access to all sorts but keep coming back to my laptop as I find it works best for me.

I've always found a tablet gave me a sore neck when browsing the internet on a sofa. A cheap laptop would do more for less than the likes of an ipad in my opinion.

Garage
As above, I use a computer/laptop for work. At home I only use the tablet for watching things in bed, app versions of things like word etc work well though.

Personally, I am of the camp that you need a computer/laptop and a tablet as a secondary device.

Might be cost prohibitive but the best of both worlds for yourself might be a Microsoft Surface? Tablet and windows machine in one!

EDIT: Surface Go is £379 from Microsoft directly.
