Newbie from West Yorkshire!

Hi guys,

I trust you are well?

I'd like to start off by saying I'm totally new to the world of detailing cars, I've just discovered the whole pre wash and two bucket wash method a few months ago...

However I've just bought myself a 2016 Volvo v40 r-design which is a significant step up from my previous car (Toyota aygo) hence I want to try and look after both the exterior and interior better than I did with my previous run around.

Basically the paint is in pretty good condition (I appreciate if one of you guys looked at it you'd probably pull it apart) to the point where I am happy with the appearance. I'd just like to give it that extra bit of shine by polishing it by hand and protecting that finish with an easy to apply/remove wax.

Can you guys recommend a couple of products (preferably with links) that are easy to apply and remove by hand that would be suitable for what I'm looking for...?

With regards to budget I'm pretty flexible, but because I'm not what you would call an enthusiast (yet?) I Don't want to be breaking the bank.

This is my first post so apologies if it's in the wrong area, go easy on me with regards to the jargon you guys use... I'm not fully to to speed.

I should probably mention that I'm based in West Yorkshire, UK

Cheers,

James

Hello and welcome along

In West Yorkshire you have a couple of well established, large retail stores you can visit, clean your car (cyc) and motorgeek also

Both are very helpful and knowledgable

Enjoy the forum

Hi,

Thanks for your advise, I'm looking for recommendations for particular products. Otherwise if I went to a store I'd be in the same scenario I am in now.

I'd also like to order online due to work commitments, I've been looking at poorboys website and they seem to do a variety of products that look like they meet my requirements I.e.

Poorboy's Polish w/ Carnauba &
Natty's Paste Wax

However it would be nice for some recommendations coming from experience...

Cheers,

James

Hi Graham,

I appreciate that, I just needed some advise on whether or not the two products I listed are the correct ones to be using to achieve what I wanted I.e. a bit extra shine and protection for the paint.

Or a recommendation of some other products you think might be better suited etc.

Cheers,

J
