Auto finesse or Menzerna 'kit' (machine polish bundles)

Hi all,

I am going to be purchasing a DAS6 polisher and I've narrowed it down to two bundles. Which in your opinion is the best product/value for money? Or are there better options for around that budget or less?

The auto finesse £150 (non pro das6):

1 x Auto Finesse Revitalise #1 (Restoring Compound) 500ml
1 x Auto Finesse Revitalise #2 (Polishing Compound) 500ml
1 x Auto Finesse Revitalise #3 (Refining Compound) 500ml
1 x Auto Finesse 160 mm Restoring Pad #1 (Orange)
1 x Auto Finesse 160 mm Polishing Pad #2 (Yellow)
1 x Auto Finesse 160 mm Refining Pad #3 (Red)
1 x Auto Finesse Pad Prime (250 ml)
1 x Auto Finesse Masking Tape
1 x Auto Finesse Spurring Brush
2 x Auto Finesse Buffing Towels

DAS6 Pro Dual Action Polisher £159.99
Carry Case
Menzerna Heavy Cut 400 250ml
Menzerna Medium Cut Polish 2500 250ml
Menzerna Super Finish Plus 3800 250ml
Chemical Guys Orange Hex-Logic Pad 5.5"
Chemical Guys Green Hex-Logic Pad 5.5"
Chemical Guys Black Hex-Logic Pad 5.5"

Thanks for reading!

Auto finesse compounds dust like no mans business. I wouldn't go for that one but that is just my opinion. Their pad prime is nice though.

my favourite polishes are Sonax, but again this is just my personal preference. I have not tried Menzerna polishes but the forum speaks good things about them

Chem guys hex logic pads are very good.

I'd actually go for neither.

Make your selection on what you will actually use.

So choose your machine then add compounds/polishes and pads.

I'm a fan of Scholl so I'd start with the DAS6 (check out the Personal Sales threads) then add S20 with some appropriate pads (is this your first time? If so I'd start with purple and honey spider pads).

See what results you get and what you like/don't like about using the S20 & pads (or whatever products you actually choose).

Then, using that knowledge & experience go for the next products to build up your working bundle.

But....

If you're definitely going for one of the options, I'd plump for the Menzerma one.

Good Luck.

Andy.

I bought the Menzerna kit with lake country hydrotech pads recently from cleanyourcar. Very happy with it. Remember to buy some extra pads, I bought the das 6 pro so also bought a 3" back plate and matching pads too.

I bought the kit as I have 3 different cars with different states of paint on each so worked well for me.

Very happy with the kit.

My vote goes towards the Menzerna kit.
Menzerna makes great stuff and CG pads are good too.

Maybe add a 3" backing plate and some 3" pads also. Great for tight areas.

Excellent feedback thank you guys. Yes this is my first time although I have a local friend who is quite experienced who recommended the das6 and I've seen him use his with fantastic results.

I quite like the look of the S20 compound so I'll do some costing up and see what works best for me either building up my own bundle or the Menzerna set.

Much appreciated.

I'd go Menzerna too - ive just used the FG400/2500/3800 combo with the Elite Hexlite pads and worked very well on harder German paint. Having used Menzerna on several previous German cars I won't look elsewhere unless some wonder product appears !

I went for menzerna too first time, but soon switched to Meguirs DAMF kit, which produced better, and faster results that were more consistent for a beginner, than was the Menz.

The menz Super fine finish 3800 is well worth having in place of the Megs finishing wax polish.

Get both 5 and 3 inch pads. Beauty of Megs DAMF is that there are only 2 pad types, which makes choosing easy, rather than the plethora of pads n pastes in the other kits.

Do some YouTube on Meguirs Dual Action microfiber kits. Highly rated. Straightforward. Building blocks for further da kit extensions.

Definitely Menzerna of the two choices,

I had the revitalise kit and binned it, didn't think much of it at all.
