Thanks very much for your comments they provide a lot of motivation.
dennis - the top coat was Epoxy mastic 121 mattm - the springs are standard height at the moment. I think I will look at this once I have completed more of the project. They are virtually band new so want to get some use out of them. fiestadetailer - the drive slopes and I am not sure of the balance of axle stands. I have used a cut up railway sleeper for 2 main supports with 2 under the sills just in case it shifts. I am painting some parts before starting the full rebuild at the moment. As soon as I make some progress I post an update. Last edited by 8Daz8; 27-02-2009 at 10:00 PM. |

Sorry forgot to add my plans for it.
Unfortunately my daily commute is around 120miles round trip so the 2.9 is a little too costly to run. I have a Mondeo ZetecS TDCI to do the miles in. Though as soon as I have cleaned it, it gets just as dirty after a few days of communting which is another reason I dont use the XR for dialy duties even though I would love to use it all the time. I want to try to get the XR to some sort of show standard and may be take it on a few track days once I have improved some mechanical parts. Some more power would not go a miss but this can all be sorted once I have it up to scratch. |
