Nanolex Basic Rim Sealant - 1000 Km Autobahn

Hi everyone!

thought it might be worth sharing this -

I went to Nürnberg for visiting a fair, had my rims sealed with Nanolex Basic Rim Sealant right the day before.

400 Km one way plus some more driving around in the area meant 1000km for the freshly sealed rims.

Right before the cleaning procedure:





One hit with the Kärcher only (not touched!)





Now usually this is enough to get the rims to a state where there is not much left to do, but since they were mounted right before the drive there were some oily fingermarks on them which meant they were foamed (Megs Hyperwash, very weak mixture) and then cleaned with a MF glove and 2BM.



and then rinsed one more time, leaving them like this





As you can see there is not much difference between water only and washed with foam. The self cleaning is one of the main advantages of this sealant, even older brakedust or brake dust that became quite hot due to long periods of permanent use (like 4 hours Autobahn) can be removed easy!

Wowow - i'm gonna buy one of these wheel sealant kits.

Florian / Iain can you answer the following before i place my order:

How many wheels can i seal with the 50ml in the basic rim sealant kit?

I see it comes with 100ml of basic cleaner. Is this to clean the wheels before sealing them? Do i have to use this even if my wheels are already spotless?

If i don't need the cleaner, can i buy the rim sealant on its own, and how much is it?

They come with the new applicator that was mentioned in here:

and my personal experience is that you can get 2 sets out of it (no guarantee though!)

The cleaner is basically an IPA mixture, we recommend to use it before the sealant is applied, even if the rims are new.
