Nanolex Glass Cleaner and Sealant combo

I've been gradually treating my new car to a few of the newer technology products that are designed to remain cleaner for longer, last a long time and most importantly clean up a lot easier.

The theory being if a shampoo wash can get the car fully clean all over, i'll be tempeted to wash it more often

In the not to distant future I'm hoping to fully treat all the painted surfaces to the premium paint sealant, following some very impressive initial testing, more of that soon following a full polish.

This weekend's job was to prepare and treat the glass to a full clean and then an application of the premium glass sealant.

The car was fully washed as normal with Dodo BTBM, the glass was clayed with Bilt Hamber soft clay and Dodo Born Slippy, and then rinsed off again and dried.

Rolled into the garage, to allow for controlled conditions for curing later.

I cut up a cotton terry towel cloth for the application of the cleaner.

Working in small circles and strokes to ensure compete coverage the milky cream dries and buffs itself off all in one motion, just needing a final buff with the other side of the cloth.

The finish left it indeed very streak and grease free which sets up the glass for the sealant application.

Next up was to apply the sealant

This sprayed onto a new piece of terry towel and wiped across the glass the product forms a cloudy layer within the work time and is then buffed off with a fresh piece of terry towel (I'm finding the terry towel has a bite suited to working products on and off of glass)

With this residue buffed off the glass looks crystal clear.

Overall, it only takes a few mins to do each pane, you could clean all the windows first, which may be recommended for working efficiency or work one pain at a time. I did find if you left the sealant on for a while it was more difficult to remove but the bite of the terry towel helps no end with this removal.

The instructions state to leave the product for two hours to let it fully cure and bond to the glass, but i left it over night in my garage before testing just as it suited me.

This morning armed with the water sprayer, some impressive beading could be found.

The following video shows with the angle of the rear window on my car the size at which beads need to reach to break the hold with the surface at a stand still, however the beauty of this will be when moving

I am familiar with both Rain X and the Carlack offering for glass cleaning and sealing and would say it may be down to my improved technique but this is certainly no harder to use than either of the above, the glass cleaner is of particular note of being very easy to use and very effective.

I'll test how the windows go over the coming months and report back. I've not done the full front screen as yet just wanting to test the small section i did to see if the wipes work well over the sealant

Overall if it lasts a cracking product

True answer would be it's different technolgy

This is the next generation technology type products, that stick to the underlying layer better, the paint sealant is actually harder than the paint underneath for example and chemically bonds with it, rather than on it

In real world terms this should out last the above, as well as be a finer (read: stronger and smoother) shell.

dont tell me someone has actually been detailing round here again

Look forward to seeing rain-speed results and longevity reports. I highly rate Carlack so this will be interesting
