Drive 'n' Shine / Gleam Machine - Toyota Landcruiser Nanolex

Mr Face (Mike) contacted Rob and myself about having his wife's Land Cruiser detailed and treated with Nanolex Premium Sealant, wheels refurbed and some paintwork done to a damaged rear corner of the bumper

So Sunday afternoon it arrives at the unit fresh from its 100 miles journey!

No wash stage pics I'm afraid as I wanted to get it washed clayed ready for the next morning, and be home in time for my tea

But products used were.

G101 for shuts, arches and engine bay

AS Durafoam for pre-soak

AS Autowash for mitt wash

Sonus grey clay

Tardis

No wheel cleaning as they were off to be refurbed.

Quick test section to assess paintwork requirements - now being Jap paint you would think it would be pretty soft........ We should be so lucky!

the 50/50

Next morning Rob was over bright and early, I gave him the good news, which was there wasn't any Bad news was this was going to take 2 hits with an LC compressor purple pad and GT P1 polish to knock the swirling and RDS out, and follow up with 106FA on a polishing pad, a very Germanic paint requirement!

Some of the defects

So on with the correction work

Me making a mess everywhere! Only downside when working with P1 but being waterbased washes off easily

After first hit

Lovely buffer trails, if your going to do them do them artistically

After second hit worked slower to get a bit more refinement and make the final polishing a bit easier

After compounding, just some minor marring to refine up

Action shot!

Rob following up with some refining

After all the polishing was completed and the wheels were back on, a quick wash down to remove all the dust and polish splatter, then back in to by dried and given an IPA wipedown.

The paintwork was treated with Nanolex Premium

Glass was treated with Premium Glass Sealant

Somewhere inbetween all this Joe the painter turned to do his stuff on the damaged rear bumper

Wheels came back looking mint, and where sealed with Nanolex

Arches and tyres were dressed with AS Hi Style

We just managed to grab a few shots outside before the rain came

I'm sure if I've missed anything out Rob will add to the thread when he gets back online

Cheers for looking

Bryan & Rob

Thumbs up

Hi Bryan / Rob

We couldnt have wished to leave the car in better hands Superb job as always, even the wife thinks the drag coefficient must now be substantially reduced due to the Nanolex as the LC seems to now go so much faster

Why is it beautiful clean cars always go faster
