2009 Honda CB1000R with Nanolex (4mth Durability update P.3)
This detail was done by my brother, the before/after comparison isn't particularly impressive as the bike is only 1 month old.
The idea was to get some protection on the bike before it got too dirty. Given the reports on Nanolex we decided to use this on the bike. I will update this thread with monthly shots of how it's holding up. The bike is used daily for his commute to work (14mile round trip). Process:- De-grease engine & components etc using many brushes and APC 10:1 2 bucket method using CG Citrus Wash n Gloss & Elite Wash Mitt Dry using Sonus der Wunder Drying Towels Not sure on the rest, he followed the instructions in the Nanolex package, note the package included a paint sealant, a wheel sealant and a plastic sealant. Tyres:- Megs Endurance Exhaust & Metal parts:- Belgacom Alu His only comment was that it was quite hard to polish off the Nanolex but I think he may have put it on a bit thick despite my saying you only need a very thin layer. He's over the moon with the end result, took about 4 hours start to finish, the wet look of the bike is evident in some of the pictures, it's really brought out the colour of the plastic & paint. He's doing his mates 1999 Honda Fireblade this weekend with the same stuff but will clay that. Before (not very dirty) After (super clean) Thanks to Elite Car Care for the brushes & Wash stuff etc, and Pitstop for sending out the Nanolex to Channel Islands so quickly. Nice bike and very clean
I test rode one about 6 weeks ago, great fun and the right sort of bike for our roads, ended up buying British though and getting a Triumph Speed Triple ![]() Darren |
