BMW 330 Convertible
Did a detail and paint correction on a friends bmw this w'end.
The car upon collection... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After inspection it was jetwashed and then snow foamed and left to dwell for 5 mins to loosen the dirt ![]() ![]() The car was jetwashed again and then washed by hand with Meguiars Shampoo Plus. The wheels were left to soak with Bilberry wheel cleaner. The tyres and arches were soaked with Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner and then agitated with brushes. After 5 mins the wheels were jetwashed. A second coating of Bilberry was applied to each wheel individually and agitated with a selection of brushes and then jetwashed. The car was then clayed to remove fallout and any contaminents stuck to the paint. After this it was washed by hand again. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The car was then dried using Meguiars Last Touch and brought inside the garage to be taped up in preparation for machine polishing. ![]() ![]() ![]() This detail was a stage 1 machine polish to remove light scratches and swirls. I used the Makita rotary, Menzerna 106FA polish, 80mm and 150mm 3M polishing pads. Below is a selection of shots showing paint defects under the halogen lighting and 50/50 shots showing their removal. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The car was then taken outside and the engine bay was degreased with Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner. The rubbers and plastics were sealed and protected with 303 Aerospace. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The car was then fully dusted down with Meguiars Last Touch including bonnet / boot and door shuts. It was then brought back inside the garage and a layer of Dodo Juice Lime Prime Lite was applied by hand to each panel at a time. This was to prepare the paint for the wax being applied and to add a glazed wetness to it. Once the Dodo Juice was removed a layer of Victoria Concourse wax was applied by hand to the whole car and then buffed off. The interior was hovered and mats agitated with carpet cleaner. The leather and door cards were treated with Platinum leather conditioner and buffed off. Door seals were treated with 303 Aerospace. These were the final pictures… ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
