An Interview with Autobrite- direct

An interview with Mark from Autobrite-Direct.

AB were one of the first traders on DW and have brought us some great products including the foam lance and various Trade products which are accessable to all on DW .

They also run some great group buys - but enough of that onto the interview

Traders questions

Can you start by telling us a little about yourselves

My name is Mark Moss,Im 36 and married to my dearest wife Jill with 2 lovely children Jessica (7) and Matthew (2) and i live in the good old land of Stoke-on-Trent! It all started 10 years ago when I had my own mobile valeting business. I then ventured into selling a few car care products to my valeting customers. I was always been sent samples from different manufacturers around the globe to try out and I decided to go down the route of finding products that were better than the rest. Five years on we have a huge range of different car care products from different manufacturers from around the world. We also have our own range of high quality car care products, the "Autobrite" range. Featuring a simple all purpose cleaner to our new speciality carnuba paste waxes.
We also specialise in setting customers up with their mobile valeting, detailing and static car wash operations.

How did you ‘get into’ selling detailing products?

First of all, when I had my mobile valeting business customers often asked me how I achieved the finish on their cars and if there was a product they could buy to maintain it. I was happy to sell the customer the product they needed and make any recommendations I thought necessary! - The beginning of Autobrite Direct!!!

How long have you been selling detailing products?

I have been selling valeting/detailing products for approximately 6 years.

Tell me about your first product that you sold?

As I recall the first product I sold would be the Autobrite super concentrated T.F.R which is still a very popular product to this day. Now supplied to the car and commercial, fleet and transport businesses.

What do you do when you’re not selling detailing products?

I have 2 lovely children that keep me very busy indeed. When I do get time to relax and unwind I can usually be found on the PS3 online!

What do you drive and how often is it detailed?

I drive a BMW 320d MSport E90. I try to detail it once a month with a regular weekly maintenance routine, including wash, and quick detailer.

What is your favourite car and why?

My favourite car is the Mercedes Mclaren SLR followed closely by the BMW M5. Looks, performance play a big roll in my selection.

How did you ‘get into’ detailing?

Detailing followed on from valeting for me and as to this day we still do detail and train to detail when we have the time.

How long have you been detailing at ‘this’ level?

I always had a good idea about detailing from having a valeting business, but over the last 5 years, I have learnt different techniques and combinations that has made me more interested in detailing.

How did you learn to machine polish?

I taught myself how to machine polish, as it was necessary whilst I was expanding my mobile valeting business onto the detailing scene.

How many cars have you detailed over the years?

My god thats a good un! Ive lost count LOL!!

Tell me about your first detail:

What I can remember about my first detail was that it was a complete nightmare, it took ages to complete. I hated the car and was convinced that the car looked worse after the detail than it did before. I tried every product under the sun but just couldnt get the result I wanted. The customer was over the moon and even gave me a tip. Result!!

What is your favourite car to detail and why?

My own car of course.. She looks a beauty when shes waxed up.

Do you prefer to detail a supercar or everyday car?

N/A

What piece of detailing kit do you think every detailer should have in their arsenal? (excluding the obvious stuff like wash mitts, etc.)

The "Autobrite" Heavy Duty foam lance is a must for all detailers and enthusiasts. Im sure you will all agree? lol

What are your current favourite brands and why?

The Autobrite range, 3D Detailing Products and Migliore are my favourite brands. The Autobrite range is just as good as any leading brands, you get more for your money and it does exactly what it says on the tin. The 3D and Migliore range, (exclusive to Autobrite in the UK) are an excellent alternative range for the customer who wants to spend a bit more on their products and have a larger variety!

Ferrari or Lambo?

Can I say BMW????? Ok then Ferrari.

Wax or Sealant?

Im a wax man.

Fish and chips or bangers and mash?

Fish and Chips

McDonald's or Burger King?

Burger King

Coffee or Tea?

BEER!! lol Coffee!

Where are you based ?
Newcaslte-Under-Lyme, Staffordshire

Whats your favorite product ?
Berry Blast Detailer and so many more!!

Why ?
An excellent quick detailer that removes smudges, fingerprints and adds gloss when woped down, excellent with clay bar and dilutes up to 10-1! Excellent value for money and works a treat!

How much testing goes into making a product or choosing one to sell?

A hell of a lot of testing! lol
We have to come up with a idea or concept and thats the easy part! Then it has to go under vigourous tests and applications to make sure the product is of a high standard, competively priced and most importantly it works! Sometimes it can be a bit of a nightmare But it works out quite well i think.

Can we expect anything new from you ?[/

Mmmm yes im sure of it..

A new selection of 3D detailing products (UK Distributors)
A fine selection of Migliore (UK Distributors)
Sticky acid free wheel gel
long lasting Berry Blast Tyre Gel
A fine selection of Carnauba hard paste waxes
Hard paste Wheel Wax
Interior air freshner that lasts
Polish & Paint cleaner in one

Wait and see
