Baker21 vs VW Golf MK5 TDI Re-visited......

Hello all..........

Well I have been pretty quiet of late on the detailing front, mainly because I have been training and playing a lot of 'Floorball' (www.floorball.org) having just returned from GB National Team duty out in Poland attending the World Championship Qualifiers..........

Anyway, with the amount of travelling for training, etc I haven't had too much spare time to get involved with detailing anything but I did manage to get a quick 'Wash and Wax Detail' in for a previous friend who's Golf I had attended to before:

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=101055

Basically I don't think that the car had been touched since I had attended too it and with the recent poor weather conditions it was in need of some TLC:

Desperately in need of some TLC........

The Detail Process:

Now this will not follow my normal write-up format I am afraid so I guess this may not be the greatest detail thread I have ever posted and it prety much just consists of before and afters...........

I bascially agreed to complete the detail after work on a Friday so time and light was not on my side but I am hoping you can see some improvement........

I basically completed the following process:

Car rinsed;
Wheels rinsed then Megs Wheel Brightner, AS Tardis, EZ Wheel Brush, Detailer Brush and Vikan Stiff Brush used to clean them up to a good standard;
Car rinsed again;
Snow Foam applied;
Megs APC aggitated with a Detailer Brush on Door Shuts, Boot Shut and Petrol Cap;
Engine bay rinsed;
Megs APC aggitated with a Detailer Brush in the Engine Bay;
Engine Bay then rinsed;
Car rinsed again;
Snow Foam applied;
Car washed using the 2BM, with a Lambswool Wash Mitt and some Zaino Z7;
Car rinsed again;
Car clayed with some Zaino Z-18 and Megs Last Touch for Lube;
Car rinsed again;
Megs Last Touch applied all over the car;
Car dried with a Waffle Weave Drying Towel;
Windows cleaned inside and out with Megs Glass Cleaner and Glass Cleaning Cloths;
303 Aerospace Protectant applied to interior trim and engine bay trim;
CG New Car Smell Applied;
Collinite 476s applied in two coats;
Zaino Z8 Wipe Down.

As stated it was a little dark by this time but here are the final pics.......

The Results:

Apologies for the short detail and the lack of pictures but though I would share this.........

Got a fair few more friend's motor's in pipeline this month and for the months ahead so watch this space..........

Comment's good or bad welcome as always.........

Interesting point here...

How would you say the paint was? Was it still swirl free......?

Still looks good from here!

Honest answer to that is no, I think it had been subjected to some 'Supermarket' car washing between the last time I saw it which is why I clayed the car as it felt super rough.........

It definately needed a running over with the DA but time didn't allow, does go to show how good silver is at hiding defects though as you really have to look hard..........

Would you believe my Dad is with Jules and I in the UK at the moment, he is heading off to Germany next week and back in Atlanta next weekend.

As for Jules and I we plan to come over early summer this year so maybe this time I could help you out on a detail if you like? Or both of us?
