Exotic Detail - 2010 Kia Rio
One thing led to another and todays booking had to be moved to Sunday. So what do you do with a Saturday off? Turn it into a Saturday on
The owner only picked the car up on Thursday night so it was an ideal time to get a Protection Detail done. On Arrival The car was pretty clean, only done around 25miles! Still the paint was lacking a little shine ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Wheels & Trim As always, wheels first using AutoSmart Smart Wheels & Malco Red Thunder for the tyres and trim. I have no idea what the deal had put on the alloys (possibly some kind of protection??) but the cleaners would not foam up ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Paintwork Washing 2BM with Meguiars Shampoo Plus and a Sheepskin wash mitt ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After a rinse off it was clearly evident there was very little protection going on ![]() ![]() Dried off with a Sonus Der Wunder ![]() Clay This was the clay after the front wing ![]() Pretty much clean as! I still continued round the car but with nothing major to report. Engine The engine bay was only in need of a quick wipe down and some dressing. I used Malco Outrageous Orange and a MF to clean the plastics and bonnet lining ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Malco Waterbased Dressing was used on the engine plastics ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This was also used on the rear bumper ![]() ![]() Paintwork Protection Onto the paint, and first up it I used Dodo Juice Lime Prime Lite followed by Zaino Z2 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Z2 was also tried on the wheels ![]() ![]() I then went around with AutoSmart ReGlaze to quick detail and remaining Z2 residue ![]() Finished ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry for the amount of after pics ![]() Big thanks for the owner for getting the car to me at short notice Thanks, Simon Exotic Detail Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, East Riding

Not as bad as top gear makes out! My mum had one and I told them, and begged them, not to get one. Then she got it, and I was quite impressed. The diesel as found in that one also, is pretty nippy, pulls reasonably well and I thought the clutch was nice compared to some cars I've driven (struggling for massive plus points, but not that many bad points). It's a bit bland, but does the job well. Was reliable for the 3 years they had it.

Results look good.
Echoing above, how did you find Z2 went over the LPL? Zaino has a forum reputation (which doesn't mean things cannot be done in practice ) for being fussy as to what it bonds to, requiring either its on ZAIO or and IPA (or similar) wipe down... how did it go over the oils LPL may have left?

As a combo I think it has potential, but I understand the "constructive criticism". This car is one I have regular access to so I can track the progress. But as far as application I didnt see anything problems.
