Abarth 500 - Autoglym High Def.
Hi guys,
Just wanted to show off my current whip to you all. ![]() It's currently sporting some unknown dealer protection, and an additional coat of Autoglym High Definition Wax which a pal of mine bought me for helping him out at his house a few months ago. I thought I would give it a try and have been quite pleased with the results: ![]() ![]() ![]() I currently wash it using the double bucket method, with some Meguires Gold Class shampoo. I've had a look over the paintwork with a halogen light and there's no nasty swirls or anything (as is often the case with dealer prep), and obviously I've looked after it properly ever since. So, I've got a few things on order from PB, and when I get a free weekend in August I'm going to: * Foam lance it down * Clay all exterior including the glass * Wheels off and clay those, then add some Poor Boys wheel sealant - this will also give me chance to properly scrub the arches down and detail the calipers. * Meguires pre-wax cleaner (part of my Quik Clay kit) * Apply 2 coats of the Autoglym High Definition wax to get a really deep glossy shine. * Finish off by dressing all exterior rubber I know something like the Werkstat Acrylic with the Jett Trigger and Glos is probably the best to use for this type of paintwork, but having just acquired this FOC I may aswell get it used. Can only help me to detail the car properly anyway, then at least I'll know where I'm up to with any marks etc. A quick question about machine polishing (if/when the time comes) - I've never used one on a car with vinyl graphics before. What am I best doing to avoid damaging my graphics on this car? Is it safe to machine them? ![]() Thanks for looking, Matt. |

Think you'll have to mask the graphics off, you would damage them for sure.

Cheers
Other than the 2nd hand residuals which aren't as good for the Essesse, the main reason for not getting that kit was the price you pay for what you get. £2750 is alot of money for some springs which make the ride too harsh, drilled brakes and a remap. Bakersgal - if you're going to get a 500 next year, the best thing you could do, honestly, is get one without the kit. The ride is plenty firm enough standard IMO. Pay for a 17" wheel upgrade like I did, get a £300 Angel Tuning remap (which gives you more power than the Essesse anyway!), and a Monza exhaust. You'll be as happy as a pig in the brown smelly stuff
