How do you wash your tire applicatior?

I have those sponge tire applicators and they get saturated with what I can only discribe as oil, I use Gyon tire by the way. I wash them in washing up liquid but as you know, water and oil don't mix. What do you suggest?

In short I don't I turn it upside down and leave it. I can usually just pick it up and get 3/4 of a tyre coated before I need to apply any product.

I don't wash mine out after every use, maybe every few months
I use the flexipads big blue round ones and they don't ever seem to get saturated

Using washing up liquid works wonders however, as it emulsifies the oil allowing the water to wash it away

Pack of 3 jumbo sponges from the pound shop. Can cut them up into several little cubes say roughly ten. Use them until they become really black then bin them, I bought 6 of these likely 2 years ago and still got a couple left so excellent value for money

I keep my foam tire dressing applicator in a zip seal food bag, no reason to wash it out and can be used for months before it starts to break up signalling a new one is required.

cheers

Chris
