New here - How much should I pay for a winter detail?

Hello folks,

Just joined your great forum - so much info here its simply brilliant

Just a quick question - now that I finally own a special car (BMW 130i auto) I want to treat it to a winter detail

Nothing too serious - don't want machine polishing or anything like that - the paint work is in pretty good nick and if there are some swirls then they don't bother me at the mo - am just after a good clean / clay and then some good sealant / protection which will last the worst of the winter months

How much should I be looking to pay for this? I'm in Yorkshire so have seen recommendations for detailers around about - I haven't contacted any of them yet and I notice not all of them reveal their prices on their website hence my question to you guys

Much appreciated

Prices can range from £50 - £150 Paddyboy, depending on what you are wanting to be done. There are some Facebook warriors who will offer to do it on the cheap but at the end of the day you get what you pay for. Like wise the most expensive is not always the most cost effective.

Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for that Blackwatch

I've been looking around on here at recommendations as I've never used a detailer before - luckily there's a few names that keep getting mentioned in + around Yorkshire so I'll be going with one of those - always prefer to follow a good recommendation

Those that do list prices on their web sites seem to be around the £150 mark for a winter detail to bodywork so this is what I'm expecting to pay really

The car lives some of its time in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire and rest of the time in Harrogate, North Yorks so I'm happy to travel (within sensible distance)

Prices can vary dramatically. If you don't need machine work its done inside of a day.
We are based in saddleworth so literally round the corner. We would charge £150 for a thorough wash and decon routine, high grade polymer sealant to the paint, exhausts polished and sealed and wheel faces sealed also. Tyres dressed and glass cleaned, job done

Many thanks for the recommendations Moet1974

I recognise those 2 names - had seen them recommended in other sections of the forum so I'm already on the case - sending text / email messages don't have post count yet ... cheers
