The dilemma is simple: how do I wash this car, protect it enough for the remainder of the winter but not have too much time out of the house at this time of the year? My wife HATES me washing the car. She abhors it. She literally hates the Golf already JUST because i'll be cleaning it and enjoying it. I can maybe squeeze a couple of hours in.

What can I feasibly do in a couple of hours to a) allow me to see my new car without road grime on it/a nice bit of shine b) protect it enough to maintain it relatively well until I have more time...
ohhhh, how its only guna get worse for you!

before you sort the car your guna need a strategy to get the wife on board

big fan of the thermo nuclear option and get the buckets out on xmas day!

or leave your 30k mint speed machine to look like an eastern European taxi

im sure we'll find something in-between!

in the mean time, some research on here and then anything you can spray on and spray off after a good clean, ive used carchem hydro before

People have found great success speeding up the wash process with Powermaxed TFR but I've never tried it myself. My initial thought was BeadJuice as a form of protection which has been mentioned since you lack the time to put on a sealant or wax.

+1 for either Sonax BSD or Bead Juice, especially the wet application on the later, so quick and easy.

Wash it with Gyeon Bathe+. It's a little weird to use as next to no suds and looks like you're wiping it with baby oil. But when you jet wash it off the beading is hilarious.

A gentle wash and dry followed by BSD, that will help to keep it cleaner until next time and if you stay on top of it and wash regularly, it will see you through till spring no probs. Plus it is incredibly quick.

Surely you can give it a quick pressure wash to get rid of the road grime?
